411NSIDER: Centro Vinoteca is CLOSED

March 20th, 2013 by The House

Centro Vinoteca

This morning, immediately following the last of several attempts to reconcile a dispute with its landord, Centro Vinoteca has CLOSED after a seven year stint. Proprietor Sasha Muniak, having elected not to exercise his option to purchase the building at its solicited estimate, renounced his tenancy after negotiations failed to yield an harmonious lease agreement, newly designated at $35,000.00 per month.

As for Muniak’s other enterprises, Mangia at 48th Street has moved to 422 Madison Avenue and is currently under construction but is fully operational for catering and deliveries. Mangia is presently in talks to acquire an additional space as well, to append to its stable of properties which also include 57th Street, 23rd Street, a Mangia Organics at 39th Street, and two locations in Seoul, Korea.

Stay tuned for yet an additional project, currently under development at 62 Greenwich Avenue in the West Village, next door to the former Centro Vinoteca’s sister restaurant, Gusto Ristorante e Bar Americano.
