Bogle Chardonnay 2006 – California
Cost: $10/bottle
Nice light gold in color, with a sweet, oaky nose intermixed with honey, pear, and peach. Consistent flavors pack this full-bodied and chewy chardonnay that should match quite nicely with your favorite seafood dish but be bold enough to enjoy sipping during happy hour. A good value that combines California’s ripeness and fruit-forward appeal, prompting you to sip again and again.

Bogle Petite Sirah 2007 – California
Cost: $12/bottle
Following the chardonnay from this Bogle winery is their petite sirah, available at many wine stores. The nose is tart berries coupled with cherry preserves, candied sweet and sours, and just a slight suggestion of green spices. Medium-bodied with a watery texture— although light in weight, it certainly packs a good alcoholic punch. Not surprisingly, it’s young— but its sweet fruitiness overpowers its structure, suggesting early drinking appeal.
