Aside from recently having licensed two outposts (and growing) in Seoul, Korea, Mangia is now expanding to include a Mangia Organics at 45 West 39th St, "featuring all organic and/or locally-grown/sustainable ingredients." Plus—

Mangia Cafe and Catering has been servicing New York City area for over 28 years, and we’ve been busy! From our first shop in 1981, we’ve expanded to 5 different locations in the heart of the city, as well as overseas. We’re Manhattan’s No. 1 corporate caterer, with over 4,000 accounts such as Burberry, Oscar De La Renta, Viacom, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and McGraw Hill. Free WiFi at our 23rd street cafe, perfect for business lunches or just checking your email while you enjoy one of our acclaimed paninis.

– Executive Chef Ferran Mallol’s new menu at our 48th street restaurant location, as well as full liquor selection, and a new view from our upstairs windows.

-The soon-to-be-launched  Mangia Organics at 45 west 39st (212 921 9100) featuring all organic and/or sustainable/locally-grown ingredients.

– Our new bakery at our 57th St site (delivering to all 3 Mangia locales), offering mouthwatering treats and original desserts from consummate pastry chef Patrick Coston.

This of course, is in addition to our renowned antipasto bar, mouth-watering baked goods, hot soups, pressed sandwiches, and great service that Mangia earned its reputation on, all at an affordable cost to our customers during tough economic times.     Congratulations! My friend works in the fashion district and is big on organics and is very happy about this, because there isn’t that much in the area. She will probably be there all the time.

    I had high hopes for this place. Out of six visits I have yet to be happy. The tossed salad was good, but it only rose above other neighborhood offerings because they chopped it for me. And, of course, it was made from organic ingredients, which carried quite a price tag.

    A tuna sandwich I got there was INEDIBLE. It was tuna with capers. I thought it was going to be good, but could not have another bite after the first. TOO MUCH SALT. Does anyone there sample their daily offerings?

    I purchased the salad bar to the tune of ten dollars and was refused a piece of bread at the register. When I questioned the manager yesterday about that, I got an elitist attitude that really surprised me. Like he was doing me a favor! Thanks, but no thanks, George. He did of course, offer me bread at the time, but I was paying for a sandwich.

    Unfortunately the sandwich I had yesterday was, again, INEDIBLE. It was the panini with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. It was so greasy it called for a fork and knife. I decided to toss it instead,

    I really wanted to like this place. But have given up.

    hi Robin,
    thank you. believe it or not, one of the things to which we aspire on this “blahg” is the enrichment of the fine dining F&B industry for both the enterprise and the (discerning) customer.

    i happen to know several people who work for Mangia (some of them in pretty “high places” even) and i would be more than happy to pass along your valid criticism. i’m sure they will make every effort to address the situation, as ignoring it would benefit no one.

    Actually, the food at Mangia is not very expensive at all, particularly considering its outstanding quality. But, I guess, Dean, compared to the chow stands around the trailer park you live in, maybe it seems expensive to you.

    Obviously, you were raised by a couple of crack addicts yourself. What’s the matter? Bitter and resentful because your parents didn’t pay for YOUR rehab? I know it must be upsetting that they don’t support you and you have to clean toilets at Mangia for a living. Try not to be too upset that you couldn’t even do that well, and they had to fire your stupid lazy ass. If I were you, I guess I’d probably be pretty mad Mangia too.

    The difference between you and me is instead of wasting all my energy being envious because Mangia does very well and makes so much money than I ever will, I’d be out trying to make myself a better person.
    But I guess that’s also what makes me a better person than you overall.

    If I weren’t a better person, I’d just take your IP address and find out exactly who you are, so that we can all laugh at you. Because we all know there are only a handful of people who would be as bitter and retarded as you are.

    I love Mangia. My company orders from them 2 to 3 times a week or more and it is consistently good and by far the best delivery service of any we use. The price is about the same as any of their competitors but the freshness and quality overall surpasses the others which is why we have been ordering from them for years.
    They run a great business.
