i don’t know how they can possibly get away with it, but i’m about 99.9% sure this Harry’sBar (despite its great location) has absolutely nothing at all to do with the famous Harry’sBar in venice. especially since about halfway through our meal, the manager (proprietor?) asked if we’ve ever been to "the harry’s bar in new york" after inquiring where we’re from.
ha aha ahaa i mean— can you imagine?
i asked him "the one in the Helmsley or the one on fifth avenue?" and he totally ran away.

anyhoo. it just looked like a cute little place so we figured we’d give it a try.

and so we did.

it was okay. unfortunately not really anything to write home about though.

lol yea the harry cipriani on 5th doesn’t even have anything to do with the harry’s in venice.

  2. crhisto Says:

probably you were drunk when in harry’s bar in cernobbio……….much better this harry’s than the cipriani in venice or n.y.c.

    hi “crhisto”:
sure, i’ll concede— maybe i was drunk.

but maybe you were drunk while reading this post? because i never said the Harry’s in venice and/or nyc were better than this Harry’s. What i said was: “i don’t know how they can possibly get away with it, but i’m about 99.9% sure this Harry’sBar (despite its great location) has absolutely nothing at all to do with the famous Harry’sBar in venice.”

here’s a little newsflash for you: the (two) “Harrys” here in nyc have nothing to do with the one in venice either.

    tutto bene?

    grazie

This is unquestionably the best of the local restaurants outside of the Villa D’Este Hotel.Wonderful manager (Giordano), great staff and fantastic, simple food. It has nothing to do with any other “Harry’s Bar” and is well supported by the locals with much tourist trade in summer. I would eat there EVERY day if I could..try the mushroom salad or the pepper steak. Actually ANYTHING. You may spot a few celebs if that interests you. .Billy Joel was there the last time we were …and he looked like he’d eaten EVERYTHING on the menu!
