i didn't bother mentioning it back then but actually i had asked gary-dourdan if he would consider maybe producing my book as a teevee series...
then all this led back to big original question all over again-- "and... who would play you?"
and thus i was sorta totally joking when i offered: "how's about marja-allen.vongerichten? everybody says she's my "twin" and i think i read somewheres she's an actress!"
ee hee heee ha ha ha ha ha haa
wouldn't you know he fucking looooves the idea he thinks it's "BUH RILLIANT."

Marja should do it!!! That would be cool, she needs to have a life of her own aside from just being Jean Gerge's wife!!!!

Hm, I don't know - I think Marja Allen might be too pretty to play Abbe.

OK, enough about Abbe. Who's going to play me?

it's kinda freaking me out a little if you must know.

but marja-allen will need (at least ) basic motorcycle lessons

cuz we can't have the "lead" looking totally stupid like jessica-alba in Dark Angel remember that shit ?

i totally remember this one completely idiotarded scene where supposably jessica-alba pushes her bike into this freight elevator that leads up to her crib

and so she's in the lift and she's standing next to the bike, she's got her hands on the handlebars (ya know-- like it's a fucking Schwinn or some shit), evidently she's supposed to be holding up the bike with her own weight, yah ?

so then the elevator reaches her floor, and the door opens, and unexpectedly there are all these dudes waiting for her on the landing, they all have rifles and they're pointing them at jessica-alba

and so alba goes to raise her hands like "don't shoot i surrender"

she totally lets go of the bike

and the bike just STANDS THERE. by itself. like magic. it doesn't topple over or anything, not even a little lean to the left, no kickstand no nothing.

ha ha ha ahahaa duh

morons.

I think Michelle Malkin would be perfect.....she dresses nicely and has the same sweet demeanor.

Good choice perhaps. Michelle is a dear friend of mine. She is tough as nails but actually is a very sweet person (which may not work for the role of Abbe). Hahahaha

aha ha.

when exactly did this place turn into Open Mic Hour at the fucking LaughFactory ?

Posted by: Dishwasher Oct 4 2007, 12:36 PM

This is actually a smart thing that Jean Georges can do, to get his wife to play the role. It would show that they have a sense of humor about it all. There is no better way to diffuse the negative attention than to poke fun at oneself. Jean Georges is a very talented chef, but obviously certain things have gotten out of his control, which is understandable when you consider the rate at which his business has expanded. The cloud that hangs over his head will go away faster if he addresses the issues full on instead of shirks from them.

Posted by: Dick Johnson Oct 4 2007, 12:48 PM

This is true. It works for all the drunk/drugged-out/arrested/rehabbed celebrities that go on SNL.

Is this Marja too?

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb261/PassionFoodie/jgvcooks.jpg

Abbe, I never worked with you, never met you, and never met Mrs V or worked for Mr. V...but based on these more current pictures...you are more beautiful than Marja-period.

Posted by: Inkslinger Oct 10 2007, 01:56 PM

I've seen them both in person, and while I think that Marja is very pretty, I would have to agree.
But maybe that's because Abbster is older, and therefore more mature.

I definitely see your point, and I agree that it would be good for both JG and Marja. On the other hand, we have to also consider JG's side of it.

Like e.g., say the situation was reversed, and it was Marja that worked for Mangia, Gusto, etc, and she was the one that wrote a tell-all about that company, and it just so happens that Abbster looks like Marja. How would Abbe's boyfriend feel if she were to play of Marja? Would Abbster do it?

If you want to look at it that way then the best thing overall would be for him to take whatever investment he spends on [damage-control] PR and use it instead to be an executive producer of the TV series. That way he kills alot more birds with one stone - he diffuses the negative attention, his wife makes an income from her acting and he stands to make a return on the success of the series.

oh shit it's like i just totally missed an entire page !

HELLS YES I WOULD DO IT.

but now that you mention it, i did posit this little hypothetical scenario to the Grasshopper Wrap King-- ya know just out of curiosity.

and (sorta) surprisingly, he was all: "sure... why not?" as a matter of fact he even said something along the lines of it being "maybe karmically meant to be" or some shit. ya know when you really think about it, there are some pretty astounding "coincidences" (if you're the type that believes "coincidences" actually exist, i mean) in the whole shebang. it's pretty freaky really.

so uh yah
it's really great we agreed on the matter cuz it would have been a wee bit awful to have to inform sweetie pie: any negative opinion on his part would be pretty much IRRELEVANT, mutherfukker.

heeee sshh don't tell him i said that

Abbsterpiece, if I gave any credence at all to those kind of comments or thought you needed defending, I would do it. It's not like I haven't thought of it, but I usually post from work, and I don't want the IP address out there.

whaaaaaat ??!! I TOTALLY NEED DEFENDING are you people out of your fucking minds or something WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE DEFENDED ???!!!

as for those two bitches-- oh pleeeze. what the hells do i get from them whenever my ass is attacked all over the interwebs
"oh sorrrry i was busy trying to help edit your book"
"oh sorrrry i was busy redigitizing the jpegs for your artworks page"
"oh sorrry well it's too late now, that thread is already dead now anyways"
"oh sorrrry i was busy with my REAL job cuz as much as i love getting your nice dresses as payment and all, they don't really pay the bills or the rent"

fuck those hos.

no seriously. do you realize there was a time i was hatching this scheme in my brain to put an ad in craigslist for a "professional commenter." seriously NO JOKE, i was ready to pay $20 PER COMMENT to anybody who could show me a link where they defended my honor (hells even fucking Gawker only pays $12 per post ! HA)

really-- you know like: PROFESSIONAL COMMENTERS WANTED. MUST BE INFORMED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE "PRODUCT" (ya know. ME i mean. haaa). MUST BE FAST, ARTICULATE, WITTY, and SUCCINCT. BONUS FOR SNAPPY COMEBACKS and RAZOR SHARP ONE-LINERS. INTEGRITY and SINCERITY REQUIRED. LIARS, SHYSTERS, and FREAKY SYCOPHANTS NEED NOT APPLY.

neat huh ?

you know who talked me out of it ? angel, that whore. she was all "well there's no stopping the webmasters of the site where the comments appear from deleting those 'defensive' posts because they'll say it's paid propaganda or some shit. plus a lot of sites have a comment approval process so maybe those posts won't even get through blah blaah bleeaahh..."

whatever.

i'm still willing to pay. i guess that means i owe PassionFoodie 20 bucks.

lookeee here. i wouldn't even have seen this (hello. it's been a fucking WEEK loser) if it weren't for dick-johnson posting this "our old motto" link in yesterday's thread:

abbe diaz is a wackjob for sure. i'm getting sick of her quasi writer-resto celeb status.

we all know that bruni don' give two stars to them lady chefs, but just learn to pepper your floor staff with some rough around the edges, bad boy types, and you'll do fine. bruni loves a good eye fuck before he eats.

20 BUCKS TO THE FIRST PERSON WHO POSTS SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

abbe diaz is the wackjob huh ? look who's talking-- the person who's implying he's sexist, gay, and sadomasochistic.

sick of her "quasi celeb status?" well. maybe you should try signing your REAL NAME to all your vile vituperative shit instead of hiding behind anonymity, and then maybe YOU can be a "quasi celeb" too.

you GUTLESS PUNK BITCH.

hells. fuck it

20 bucks to the first person who copies and pastes that shit, you don't even have to think.

what-- and admit i actually revisited that stupid thing again, a week and a half later ?

what do you think i am ? a fucking wackjob ??

Posted by: jo Oct 26 2007, 04:41 PM

It's hardly cost/effort-efficient to hire an army of witty, razor-sharp writers to battle one jealous, pathetic commenter who has the intellect of Pee Wee Herman and needs to get a life. Anyone who would take those vicious comments seriously isn't your target audience anyway.

Besides, no one could possibly handle those jerks better than you.

Posted by: Dishwasher Oct 26 2007, 05:22 PM

If it's any consolation, the way you handle those commenters is one of the things that brought me to this forum in the first place. It's part of what makes the whole saga so interesting. Sasha Muniak is a lucky man to have you in his corner. Buck up, kiddo.

So Abbe Diaz is a wackjob ....and Bruni is sexist, gay, and sadomasochistic.
....and you didn't take your meds again.

Sick of her "quasi celeb status?" How vacant is your existence?
I've read quite a bit of her writing and find it funny as well as insightful....she gives a public voice to the majority of the service industry.

Who do you speak for? The legion of vicarious cowards who begrudge accomplishment?

Get a life, asshole.
